Todoist / Obsidian daily note generator

January 8, 2023January 8, 2023 AONeil

I recently learned about the powerful note-taking app, Obsidian. It changed the way I’ve been taking notes but something was missing… I wanted Todoist tasks inside of my daily Obsidian note so I could collect my thoughts and track my accomplishments of the day.

Ansible Splunk Forwarder Role

July 31, 2021September 1, 2021 AONeil

I recently had to reinstall my personal Splunk instance and reconfigure my endpoints to log back to my Splunk. In the past, it was a long process of SSHing into each host and manually reinstalling Universal Forwarders on each host. Thankfully, I’ve been learning a bit of Ansible and decided to take on a small side project of building a role that installs Universal Forwarders on Windows, Debian, ARM (Rpi), and FreeBSD clients.

CNC Button Board

April 2, 2021July 20, 2021 AONeil

This project is a python script meant to be running on a Raspberry Pi to trigger webhooks to my home assistant setup if a button was pressed. I currently have the following plugs on a smartswitch: cnc killswitch, vacuum, lights, fan. The center toggle switch is the laser kill switch.

Automated Bug Bounty

bb-automation

I am currently working on a project that I have never attempted before, a programming project.
While my project is not written in Python (We’ll get there eventually), this was the first project that I had set out to solve without very much experience within the beginning.

Down the Fusion 360 Rabbit Hole – MPCNC Tornado Air Assist and Other Mods

January 1, 2021July 20, 2021 AONeil

As of recent, I’ve been upgrading parts on my MPCNC to better serve my functions. Soon I’ll have a laser attachment on my CNC to do engraving and shallow cuts which I am super excited about but first I need to make some changes to existing models.

Last month I posted about my MPCNC Tornado, this month I would like to present a new addon for that project. An air assist mount.

MPCNC Tornado v1 – Z Axis Independent Dust Collection

November 13, 2020July 20, 2021 AONeil

Hey All,

I recently was looking for a decent dust collection system that was Z axis independent.

After a bit of digging, I determined I was going to design one up myself. This design allows you to set the height of the dust shoe and lock it in so it doesn’t move when running the CNC. The dust shoe is held in by 8, 8mmx3mm magnets and allows you to easily add / remove the shoe when setting up your work.

pfSense, Suricata, and Splunk

May 6, 2020January 1, 2021 AONeil

There are a few blogs out there on the internet that walk you through setting up a pfSense Splunk forwarder, and a few more that talk about getting your Suricata IDS logs into your Splunk, but there is not an all-in-one guide to help you do both. Today we hope to solve that problem and give you an all-in-one guide on how to do this.
